Kampala. URA continued their fine second round league form with a 1-0 win over Express at the Mandela National Stadium yesterday.

The result was their sixth victory in nine second round games in contrast to the first round when they drew 10 of 15 games.
The result lifted URA to third above Mbarara with 42 points, with six games left.

Ronald Kigongo was the unlikely hero volleying home the game’s only goal 13 minutes from time after goalkeeper Tony Kyamera collided with his defenders under no pressure from any opposition player.

Express will on the other hand rue a combination of bad finishing and good goalkeeping from URA’s James Alitho for their eighth loss that leaves them 11th despite putting up arguably their best performance under George Ssimwogerere.

At the Betway Muteesa II Stadium, Alan Kayiwa’s seventh league goal of the season helped Tooro record a 1-0 win over Bul in the first game since moving from Buhinga to allow the stadium be rebuilt.

Today, leaders KCCA and Vipers separated by four points, resume their title pursuit after a three and two week hiatus respectively.

KCCA have what appears the more difficult game traveling away to eighth placed Kirinya Jinja.
“We have to win to brighten our chances. The sure starters are Timothy Awany and Allan Okello,” KCCA coach Mike Mutebi said of the game and the returning contingent from the Cranes.
