Police at Jinja Road Station have released suspects in the murder of a post graduate student at Management Training and Advisory Centre (MTAC) in Nakawa in Kampala.

Immaculate Kebirungi, who hailed from Rukungiri District, was Thursday last week found dead and her room set ablaze in what appeared to be a cover-up. Her legs and arms had been tied on her bed.

Police responded by arresting two neighbours on conspiracy accusations who have since been released from the cells of Jinja police station on bond.

Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, said preliminary investigations have found no links of the suspects to the crime and their right to bond had been implemented.

Kebirungi was allegedly killed and burnt with kerosene in a crime allegedly orchestrated by her boyfriend, name withheld, who she had just informed how she was no longer interested in their relationship.
