Kampala- The quest for berths at the Nile Special National Pool Open finale due October 24 descends to the mid and Western Uganda this weekend.

Several lads travelled from Kampala and interestingly, its a bunch of former finalists and veterans in action when the Regional Qualifiers get underway at about 12 venues.

Tonight, 2008 grand finale’s beaten runner-up Wasswa Kayiiya will attempt to make his way to the October 24 finals slated for Lugogo Indoor Stadium when cues get busy at Leisure Tec Bar in Kasese.

“Everything I do in Kasese is to get me to Lugogo,” the national seed 20 told Daily Monitor yesterday. “Many people think I deserted Kampala venues to get easier opponents in Kasese but I only wanted to get new challenges.” added the 28-year-old.

Like Kayiiya, Moses Arinaitwe too lost the final to Khalifan Ntwali in but is as well eager to make his fifth successive finals’ appearance at Panorama Bar in Ibanda.
Similarly, Edward Byaruhanga will be aiming for a fourth straight ticket to Lugogo at Pine Health Club in Kabale but faces competition from a pile of Kampala-based players.

Another interesting figure, national seed 64 Simon ‘Computer’ Lubulwa, a 2013 finalist, will be the man to watch when dusk falls in Fort Portal tomorrow.
