Jas Mangat opts out of CMC Rally

Kampala. National Rally Championship (NRC) leader and Mbarara winner Jas Mangat will miss the CMC Challenge Rally this weekend due to business commitments.
Joseph Kamya, navigator for the three times national champions confirmed Mangat’s absence and appealed to Team Pili Pili fans to wait for them in Masaka during the Southern Motor Club (CMC) event next month.
His absence opens the door for other contenders to take advantage in the race for the national title.
However, Leon Ssenyange, the co-driver of Ronald Ssebuguzi, said the withdrawal of Mangat had reduced pressure on them but thinks six drivers will have a chance.
He named Arthur Blick Jr (Evo X), Ponsiano Lwakataka (Subaru N12B) and Omar Mayanja (Evo X) as some of the drivers to look out for this weekend. Ssenyange said since they are opening the route, they intend to use a different strategy to collect maxim points.
The event which is the second round of NRC will have three competitive sections (CS) on day two (Sunday) to be repeated three times.
The longest section is Nandagi (15.54km) while Mpoma is the shortest with 10.56km.
