Kampala- In attacking midfielder Allan Okello, KCCA FC manager Mike Mutebi believes the club has acquired a player who has what it takes to take Ugandan football by storm at a tender of 17.

Okello who was voted most valuable player last year at the Copa Coca Cola Schools’ tournament in Soroti was yesterday unveiled alongside fellow Kibuli SS teammate Julius Poloto.

The duo alongside Mustafa Kizza, Herbert Achai, Peter Magambo and Noel Nasasira where promoted from KCCA FC’s youth structure to the senior team, although it’s Okello that Mutebi talks about highly.

“He is a wonderful player, very skilled and exceptional, if handled well, which we are going to do, he will be the next Messi, there is no doubt about that” Mutebi likened Okello to Argentina and Barcelona forward Leone Messi as he talked to journalists.

Mutebi added: “We have not just promoted them to make up numbers, these players will actually be first teamers because I they have proved that they have what it takes to play football at this stage.”

In Okello, Achai and Kizza, Mutebi boasts of three exciting left footed players although it’s the latter who comes in enormous pressure but he sounded like he can handle that challenge.
“There is no pressure; instead it’s motivation for me to work hard, not only to be a legend in KCCA FC but in the whole Uganda. I want to show the world that it’s me they want to call Messi and I know I will make it,” said the elegant player.

Kizza played for Maroons on loan in the FUFA Big League last year and with breathtaking performances forced Mutebi to recall him to the Lugogo side where he expects him to play regularly.

“Kizza has been playing brilliant football in Maroons, he is ready to play for KCCA FC and he will play together with the rest of them, we shall find a way of integrating them in the system.”
KCCA FC will open the second round of the Uganda Premier League against BUL FC on February 7.
